 Hector begins his class.   “Les gants

 

The classroom includes audience members.

 

Dorothy meets with her fellow faculty members in the teacher’s lounge

 

Fun in French:  Quelles belles jambs!”

 “…vous montrer ma prodigieuse poitrine.”

 

Headmaster interrupts the French lesson: “Vous comprenez, cher Directeur, soldat blessé?”

 

Acting out the hospital in Ypres, Belgique:  “Ma mêre!”

 

Irwin adds to the conversation:  “Il est commotionné, peut-être?”

 

Irwin teaches his version of History:  “First Class!  Bristol welcomes you with open arms.”

 

Dorothy has a conversation with Rudge: “It’s only a metaphor, Miss.”

 

Headmaster catches Hector in an indiscretion:  “This is a school and it isn’t normal!”

 

Dorothy finds out that Hector is in trouble: 
“You didn’t know.  He didn’t tell you why he was going?”

 

The boys have a trial Oxbridge interview: “Why do you think there are no women historians on TV?”

 

All the boys get places in the Oxbridge exams, even Rudge.

 

Headmaster refuses to let Hector take another boy on his motorbike:  “No, no, no, no, under no circumstances!”

 

“Eulogies at Hector’s funeral:  “When I speak of Hector, it is of enthusiasm shared……..”
