September 6, 2008 For the first time, our ship docked right in the city, so we could look out our balcony and see the ancient walls of the city. And everything was walking distance from the boat.

The emphasis is on ships and sculpture, and some unique architecture. |

A huge variety of ships were seen in the harbor. |
And a large variety of sculptures were on display all over the city. |

I believe the above statue is by an artist Gustav Vigeland. |
|
On our tram, returning from the Vigelandespark, we met a woman with a huge amount of packages. We helped her off the bus, carrying 2 heavy bags, and she led us to the wonderful flea market. Countless “treasures” and not a tourist in sight. |
