Granada

In order to get to Granada, we crossed the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

It was a breathtaking trip, with one amazing vista after another.

It was the most spectacular part of our whole trip,
and we crossed them four times.

(no vista photos can capture the full splendor)

When we arrived in Granada, we first (after much searching) found what

turned out to be our favorite hotel, The Alhambra Palace Hotel.

This is the view from our room.

And the hotel was walking distance from the Alhambra,
which we visited on our second day.

We had (accidentally) paid for a guided tour, which was a mistake.

First we saw the Generalife, the gardens of the Alhambra.

The up and down hundreds of stairs to view the ruins of the fortress

and finally the palace itself, with much of the ornamental parts still in tact.

Granada was an interesting city in it’s own rights.
