The last time we had been in the Louvre was 1987, before the renovation which
was finished in 1989.
So it was a thrill to see the "new" Louvre!
What a difference! Those long, dark halls packed with French paintings (of
every quality) have been
replaced by bright rooms, with selected works beautifully displayed.

The expansive lobby (with the glass pyramid above) leads the viewers to the
3 separate museums,
clearly delineating all the categories of Art, from Greek and Roman masterpieces
to Renaissance painting from all of Europe.

Unfortunately, the Decorative Arts wing, with all the French furniture (and
CLOCKS) was closed.
But a major treat is seeing Napoleon III's magnificent apartments.
